I like the sharpener--but
I bought this pencil sharpener through Amazon. The 1st one cracked on the plastic housing equally down the clear short sides. This was the 1st day after sharpening maybe 12 pens. So I exchanged it. My second one, I've had it longer but sharpened maybe 5-6 pencils and it is doing the same thing! I think this is a design flaw.
On the flip side it sharpens well, it makes beautiful sharp points shorter shaving than another electrical sharpener.
Based on what I know now the top housing will break through soon. I'm afraid it will become unusable. Yes--I know I can return it. I guess I just expect the product to function.

Nice and sturdy. Easy to use!
This little pencil sharpener is amazingly sturdy and functional! I love it because you can use it with just one hand. It has three tiny rubber pads on the bottom that create just enough suction to secure them to the surface, but not so much that you can't easily pick it up and move it. It never slips!!!! The sharpener is automatic, so you just put your pencil in the top, gently push, and voila. Perfect point. But do keep in mind that it requires batteries that are not included.

No replacement blades?
I bought this sharpener and it has seen light use in our home. I bought my kindergartner a pack of colored pencils and was sharpening them. The sharpener was not sharpening evenly around the pencil. After sharpening her 8 pencils it is no longer sharp enough for a yellow #2. I went looking for replacement blades, but nothing fits. I would not have spent as much as I did if I knew it would not do very light duty for more than a year or two. Can you help me find replacement blades?

Works great, but no replacement replacement blade?
This worked great for homeschooling two kids during the pandemic. It's now stopped sharpening, though the motor is running fine. I ordered replacement blades but they don't seem to fit. I don't see replacement blades on Westcott's site or any other replacement blades that claim to fit Wescott products. I don't like having to throw away the whole product for such an inexpensive, easy-to-replace part. If I have to buy a new sharpener, I'll look for one that is easier to maintain.

Dissappointing
I bought this sharpener at a local Walgreens. There were no directions other than it needed 4 double A batteries. The batteries are brand new. I followed the plus signs installing the batteries, NOTHING. I searched everywhere for some type of on switch, NOTHING. I can still use it, but why would I need to spend over 11 dollars and use batteries for just a little sharpener? Is it too much to provide at least a diagram, directions?

Broke after 3 months mild use.
Wife bought from store and we don't have receipt. First stopped sharpening, put pencil in and it would just cut off sides of pencil.. Then after many attempts the gears stripped. Took whole sharpener apart and it has plastic gears. These plastic cheap gears failed and stripped. I have a wired pencil sharpener from the 1970s that still works...

I'm so glad I found this portable pencil sharpener. It has worked great for me. I'm an artist, I work w colored pencils. I'm happy that the iPoint Orbit didn't chew up my well grade pencils. I need to have a very sharp point and it gives me fine sharpened points. I've had my sharpener for about 4 months. No complaints. Super Sharpener!

Does what it should.
It works great and has a small form factor, so it doesn't hog your desk. It's nice that the whole thing can be unplugged (just hold the cord with something else so you don't have to re-tuck it behind your desk), because when you go to dump the shavings, you really have to, since the shavings cup has a hole on the bottom to enable vertical sharpening. It's a slight down-side, but it's not annoying.
I'm here though because I broke a pencil tip or something in my sharpener and now the auto-start/stop is working very erratically... I was hoping to find some answers, but I guess I'll just unplug and take it apart soon. Saw all the bad reviews and thought this could use a boost, since apparently people don't leave reviews on brand websites unless they're unhappy (true of many brands it seems).
It's worked great for a year, and I'm the guy who likes writing with sharp pencil tips, so it's very handy. If I can't fix it, I'll see if Costco will replace it.

Just bought this and am disappointed that you have to hold the pencil quite firmly to give the resistance and it rubs against your hand as it sharpens. Tried it with two out of four orbits that I bought. Is this right?
There is a strong motor in the sharpener, so it is important to hold the base and pencil steady to get the optimal results.

Is there a way to order the small gray top to lock in the sharpener? I think one of my students accidentally threw it in the trash? I have the clear gray outer ring.
I had the same thing happen to me. The top should be available to purchase as it is so easy to accidentally throw away. I love the sharpener, but not that part of it.

Hi, Can you sharpen Maxi Coloured Pencils (Staedler), thicker pencils with the iPoint orbit Sharpener.
We would not recommend the usage of colored pencils with this pencil sharpener.

Where/how does one install the batteries in the iPoint orbit sharpener?
On the bottom of the sharpener is a door that opens the battery compartment. Use leverage such as a coin or fingernail to open the door and expose the battery case.

Please send me a parts breakdown so that I can reassemble the sharpener. The pin that holds the grinding wheel in place came loose and I had to take the whole thing apart to repair it. Now I need to reassemble it.

How do you open to get batteries in?
If you turn the sharpener upside down, there is a door that opens. You have to use a little leverage to pry it open. It'll then expose the battery case.

concerning iPoint orbit, item no. 16852: How does one remove the shavings reservoir to empty it?
Doesn't sharpening anymore, so do you replace item.
What is your manufacturer since I am doing a project on it I need to see how much each individual part costs?
