Why aren't any instructions included with the stapler? Just 2-3 sentences exlaining what the "+" and "-" mean and how to load the staples.

I am depressing the handle but the staples are not coming out. I hear the noise but nothing happens. Help!

Asked by: Dee2
To ensure the staple gun works properly, only use with Westcott staples. Please also verify that the staples are facing downward and pushed all the way forward until you hear a click. Last, make sure the side knob is in the plus position.

what are these features? the knob that turns between + and - and the handle has a slide /pull back feature.

Asked by: Valerie
The slide pull back feature is to lock the handle in the closed position. If you depress the handle and before releasing pull it back, it will lock to the body of the staple gun. The + / - is to use a high power low power feature to adjust based on the material being worked on. The + is the strongest setting and the – is the low setting.
