Nice sharp cutting tool for fabric
This product was sent to me to test and review without cost. It is a good cutting tool that can cut through two layers of cotton fabric without hesitation. It has a safety guard that you can pull back with your thumb when you want to cut. The same button returns the guard to safety position when you are done. It is a good tool for cutting thinner fabric. It is made for medium duty use.

Sharp!
The blades on this rotary cutter are very sharp. I used it to square up the edges on a purse that I was sewing and it easily cut through one area that had 14 layers of fabric. This cutter is very light weight, fits my hand well and is comfortable to use. I do have difficulty with the retractable blade guard which is the reason for the 3 star rating. The lock button to release and slide the blade guard is very difficult to operate. I became so frustrated trying to retract the blade guard, that at one point I had to put us both in time out . When I went back and tried again, I was able to retract the blade guard. I will keep it in my travel sewing kit as it is very light weight, but I will prefer to use a rotary cutter with a smoother retracting blade guard for everyday sewing and crafting.

Nice effective cutter.
The Westcott Rotary Cutter is definitely effective! It is very sharp, so bear that in mind when using the blade. It is rated for medium usage, but I also used it on cardboard without any problems. The user doesn't need to apply undue pressure, because the blade is made for cutting, and that it does. Just remember to put the safety case back on the blade when the Westcott Rotary Cutter isn't being used, because that sharp blade works so very well.

Great little item. Blade is sharp and high quality Titanium stainless steel.
The thumb level used to open and close plastic blade cover needs improvement. very hard to use and cheap. I struggled to cut thru several types of fabric even though blade appears very sharp.

Very Useful!
This is a very useful cutter. I thought that I would only use it on fabrics, but I was wrong. I have found many uses for it around the house. It cuts paper with ease especially a stack. I also use it for opening packages! It works much better than a boxcutter. Another great use was for cutting up herbs. I changed the blade and it was awesome!

Cuts well
Cut very well. easily cut through 5 sheets of paper with moderate pressure. Was able to cut through 10 sheets of paper with heavy pressure. Light weight. Hard plastic handle was not super comfortable for extended period of cutting. Happy that it has a blade guard, but the design is difficult. It is not easy to move the guard up and down.

Good but very sharp
Very good. Very Very Sharp. The lever pushing the blade up was a little hard to move. It got easier with use. This is VERY SHARP. I put the cutter down to adjust my material, I forgot to close the blade. I moved my arm over the blade by accident and it cut my arm. It works great cuts very quickly without much effort.

Easy cutting
I make quilts and this rotary cutter is a perfect tool for cutting multiple layers of fabric. It is easy to use, super sharp, and the blade replacement is simple. It fit my smaller hands just fine and handled well. And the sliding safety shield is perfect for storage and to keep the blade away from fingers.

Just bought exact same rotary cutter, but mines does not cut. Is there a trick to it? It slides out perfectly fine and all it just will not cut, while trying to cut through a folded...T-shirt...? Did i make a bad purchase. I hold it up on angle

I just bought this item. (Fabric roller cutter). It is in the up position and will not slide down into the safety position. Also, it doesn’t cut unless I take the protective cover off. This is my first experience with a roller cutter. Guidance pls?
To use this cutter, place your thumb on the white grip and pull the cover downwards towards the handle to reveal the blade.
