This is the best guillotine trimmer I have used to date. I have had experience with different types and sizes, but always found some small problem areas with them s.a. not cutting complete straight towards the bottom, not being able to cut straight through several pages at the same time or the cutting line not matching up with the edge. This is the first trimmer that I have encountered that doesn't have any of these issues. I was also able to cut through on uneven number of pages (a stapled brochure) at the same time without it affecting the straightness of the cut. Decent paper cutter. I cut a lot paper for my art students so we put it through the paces. Time will tell how it holds up though. Just some initial thoughts: Handle is built really close to the shearing edge which is nice. Very minimal gap and the paper doesn't slip while cutting. The finger guard is a little to low for cutting 10 sheets of paper. I comfortably cut 6-8 with ease. When I first picked up this trimmer I was very surprised. It is very light-weight. I was anxious to see if it would cut the way I needed it too. I was not disappointed. My paper were straight and the blade cut very easily. The guillotine trimmer is lightweight which is great if you need to move it from room to room or travel with it. I used it at home to trim some scrapbook paper. The 12 inch size fit the paper perfectly. It sliced nice and clean. The safety lock is very secure so the blade did not move or slip when moving it around or removing it from the box. It also has a finger guard which limits the amount of paper you can slice, but your fingertips are protected. This is a great size for a desktop guillotine. It handles a standard paper size, yet it's not so huge that it takes up the entire workspace. My blade has gotten dull and no longer cuts with a clean edge. Am I able to purchase a replacement blade for it?
