Portable.....convenient......and easy to use. The on,y down side is well it really isn’t a down side is the speed. Teachers are always in a hurry and have a 100 things to do at once. And let me ask you.....how many times have you been in the car and your pencil breaks and no way to sharpen it. Therefore, I keep mine in the care. I journal and an avid calendar note taker...who will only use a pencil. Thank you for taking time to read this review. I will have to try to remember to do a little video in the car

I've tried battery powered sharpeners before and for the most part they were disappointing---didn't sharpen, couldn't sharpen more than a pencil or two without losing power. This sharpener was pleasantly surprising. Not only did it last through more than a pencil or two, but it put a great sharp point on my pencil. I wouldn't recommend this sharpener for a classroom sharpener where lots of students are using it, but it works great on the desk where only one or two people are using it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by njc182816 from Cute little sharpener This is a cute sharpener that is about the size of a cue ball from a pool table. It takes 4 AA batteries, and does the job effectively. Being battery operated, and having a small shavings reservoir, this sharpener is best for light use. It takes up very little space, and would be a great for use in a dorm room, on a student desk, or drafting table. Being battery operated, it would also be good to keep in a car or truck for a traveling professional who uses pencils on the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by robbim from Good to keep on your desk! This iPoint Ball Pencil Sharpener is good to keep on your desk for quick sharpening. I love having a nice, sharp point on my wooden pencils. This pencil sharpener gets them to a very nice sharp, defined point in very little time. It is battery operated, so there is no cord to get in the way. It also has an easy-to-remove shavings receptacle for simple emptying after sharpening. Just hold the pencil straight and you will get a nice, sharp point of graphite to write with!

I loved the compact design and put it on my desk, but didn't get to use it long before my son took it for his dorm room. It works great, I like the rubber on the bottom to keep it from sliding, and it is easy to empty. You do need to hold it over the trash when emptying it, but it is easy to slide apart. I will probably buy another for myself. I like the compact, wire-free design very much.

Rated 2 out of 5 by tiquefinder from Powerful but Unweildy! This pencil sharpener is quite a powerful little package! Maybe too powerful. It will sharpen your pencil quickly, but you need a firm grip on the pencil to keep the sharpener from spinning the pencil around. Seems like the sharpening blades cut to deep, grabbing the pencil, and spinning it instead of cutting. If you get used to how to handle it, this sharpener does the job. Also don't care for the design of the shavings catcher.

I have had problems in the past when I bumped our old sharpener and ended up with pencil havings ll over the kitchen counter. I was a little worried when I openned the package. This sharpener fealt too light to be stable enough for kitchen use. However, once I installed the batteries I found it to be perfect. It sharpens quickly and helps keep the kitchen clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by chris0177 from Greal little sharpener This had tons of power but make sure to hold onto it because when I was trying to sharpen a pencil with one hand, the sharpener itself would spin in circles as I'm holding the pencil. Another issue we had was with some color pencils but overall this works well. Make sure to try and empty this over a basket because when you remove the front plastic piece, the shavings will go everywhere
