Takes Some Practice
It was a little frustrating to figure out how to use the pen because it is very different from the glue gun. I think this is great for small projects. I had to mend the trim on a Santa pillow and this pen was great for the job. It gives a few seconds of steady stream. If you have a bigger job, I would recommend using a glue gun. The pen is harder to control. If you have a bigger area to cover, it peters out too soon. I like the indicator that shows when the tip is hot (it turns red). Once you get used to this pen, I think you will like it too. Doesn't replace a glue gun, but I will add it to my kit for small repairs and projects.

Easy Portability
Loved how the Hot Glue Pen fit my hand and was lightweight and very comfortable to use. The finger controlled trigger released the glue so easily but the quick heating up of glue sticks wasn't expected and I was a bit concerned about the dripping out of tip onto work surface was premature. I will know better to place an old metal teaspoon under the tip to catch the droplets before I plug in the pen.
I loved the ease of the tip heating up and changing color from BLUE to note it was RED hot along with the speed to handle emergency crafting/repairs as I've often had to wait awhile with other brands of glue guns which were uncomfortable weightwise.

Good for precision hot glue work
I usually use larger hot glue guns that feed as you press the trigger, and was intrigued to see this pen. It has a much finer nozzle that can leave a very well-controlled fine glue line. I did find that you have to join the pieces fairly quickly, as the smaller amount of glue hardens faster than with the larger glue guns. The size of this is great for holding like a pen, and the button that releases the spring-loaded glue sticks is easy to reach and press. The color changing head is very handy for determining when the pen is ready to use (hot, red), or ready to be put away (cool, blue). This will be my go-to pen for fine detail hot glue work.

Nice Glue gun
The Westcott Hot Glue Gun is attractively colored, alternating white and blue. Unlike some of the other glue guns, the Westcott glue gun is not shaped like a small pistol but instead is more cylindrically shaped. It is very nice to look at, and it's attractiveness was put to the test with a project gluing small decorations on a pine cone. It worked well. I had to push the second glue stick up to help get the glue to come out, and it did in proper quantities. Like other glue guns, it does not have a on-off switch, and the user must unplug the glue stick after using it.
The Westcott Hot Glue Gun is a good addition to any home, and is well worth its cost.

Works good but you may need time to get used to it
The glue gun will heat up pretty fast. The front of the gun beyond the hand grip will get really hot so be careful not to touch it. The instructions on the booklet are fairly easy to follow. Basically pull the side handles back, and then push the top trigger button to start your gluing. You may need some practice if you want to get a steady amount out. Glue also will drip out of the tip after you stop so dont leave it anywhere you dont want glue to get on to. You get 2 glue sticks included but those will be finished pretty fast. Most hands should be able to hold this and press the button to work.

So easy to use!
Glue Pen Comments:
The tip changing color when hot is a big advantage and the silicone covering is much better than metal.
The adhesive held very well and is better than most of the others I have used.
The style of the pen makes it very comfortable and easy to hold.
The cord is a nice length, but is very stiff. Hopefully it will soften the more I use it.
It fits easily in my crafting bag so I can take it to crops with me.
Overall:
Your company does the research to know exactly what the consumers want and
need!

Love it!
I received the Westcott Premium Hot Glue Gun to review and it came at a prefect time.We were putting up our Christmas tree and I found out that two of my ornaments were broken. One had her head broken off and one had a broken wing.I had never used a glue gun before.I usually bought the little tubes of glue but after using the glue gun I will never go back to using those. The glue gun was so easy to use and worked amazingly well.It was so fast and easy.I fixed my ornaments and you can't tell that they were ever broken.I highly recommend the Westcott Premium Hot Glue Gun! It's a great product.

Nice thin line of glue!
This glue gun is great if you need a thin line of glue for special projects. Easy to load and the colored tip makes it easy to tell when the gun is ready to use for cool enough to put away. Love it!

Please, can you tell me what the release blue wheel is for? Thank you!
The release blue wheel is designed to hold the glue sticks firmly in place. Place the glue pen in the release and then pulling back the feeding mechanism.

The charging slider slams down on my hand when I depress the button to activate glue flow. It does it so fast that it hits my hand and hurts. It is normal for this to happen?
I’m having the exact same issue. I’d like to know what to do about it.
